Eight years ago, four chicks became friends: Eva, Peggy, Tracey, Vivi. They thought it was serendipity, but it was really the Muse. It took them awhile, but eventually they realized that they had something very important in common – the heart of an artist. In 2009, inspired by Eva, they discovered The Artist’s Way, a book by Julia Cameron. They decided to work through this twelve-week creative awakening program together; no less than eighteen months later they were done.
Then, starting in 2011, they took on the next book by Julia Cameron, Walking in This World, together and launched this blog to share their journeys with other sojourning artists of every walk and medium in an encouraging but not-too-serious format. Hence, the 4 Chicks were born.
Spurred on by each other (and the Muse, naturally), the 4 Chicks have continued to worked on a number of individual and collective creative projects along the way. In their branding video below–perhaps the first-ever original blog-com theme song video, paying parodied tribute to 10 classic TV sitcoms–you’ll get an idea of just how much artistic mischief these ladies can create when they get together.
